Depeche Mode guitarist Martin Gore a new side project has teamed up alongside founding band member Vince Clarke.
The pairs again album a technical process in which they mix together existing records.
Gore told Billboard, "Out of the blue I got an e-mail from [Clarke] just saying, 'I'm interested in making a techno album. Are you interested in collaborating?'". This was maybe nine months, a year ago. He said, 'No pressure, no deadlines,' so I said, 'OK,' and that's what we've been doing the last six months."
In 1981 Clarke left the band to Yazoo and Erasure. Since he still has not been any contacts with the band.
"It was something different, and we didn't have conversations about it," Gore said of their new project. "It was more just like e-mails and file-sharing. It was something completely different no vocals, all instrumental stuff."
Even though the project will be "finished quite soon" the guitarist not see it "the light of day for a while" may include.
